[Update #2]: According to leaks, Total War: Warhammer 3 will let you design your own Daemon Prince and faction.

[Update]: It took a while, but the newest gameplay preview has finally shown off the Grand Cathay campaign in action!

After showing off huge chunks of the new Total War: Warhammer 3 campaign map, Creative Assembly is now once again shifting their focus back onto the factions themselves. Since Nurgle already had his turn, this time around the focus is on the Lord of Excess - Slaanesh.

So if you're curious what the Daemons of Slaanesh look like in battle, as well as what sort of strategies they employ, allow me to share with you the recently posted and far too dramatic gameplay preview. Have a gander:

As an additional little bonus, Creative Assembly has also detailed the full Slaanesh army roster. Unsurprisingly, it's a whole bunch of spiky deamons, spiky monstrosities, and spiky deamons riding around on spiky monstrosities! While the whole thing is pretty absurd, I can't deny that the Slaneeshi units do look rather spectacular in action!

So while I was dead set on starting my Total War: Warhammer 3 adventures with a Tzeentch campaign, I must admit I'm quite tempted to give Slaanesh a try first, which really is quite on theme. Between the over-the-top animations for some of the attacks and the focus on devastating charges, Slaanesh really does seem like the perfect campaign to spend half the playthrough zoomed in watching all of the units smash each other around!

My little musings aside, you can learn more about Total War: Warhammer 3, as well as keep an eye on any upcoming previews, over at the Total War website. Enjoy!
