Total War: Warhammer 3 screenshot showing off Ku'gath Plaguefather

[Update]: The time has come, Creative Assembly has finally unleashed a gameplay preview showing off a battle between Nurgle and Slaanesh. Needless to say, the Nurglings look awesome!

It has only been a couple of days since Nurgle and Slaanesh were first revealed, and already Creative Assembly has given us heaps of information about the Lord of Decay. The last update covered Nurgle's rather unique campaign mechanics, while today's preview is all about the units and heroes we'll be able to toy around with.

As you might imagine, Nurgle's forces will consist of a wide array of plague-ridden daemons, some jovial and some bestial in nature. So while the Plaguebearers of Nurgle, Beasts of Nurgle and even Nurglings will run around the battlefield looking for friends to hug and diseases to spread, the eternally depressed Rot Flies will tirelessly seek to enact revenge on a world that spurned their love. Needless to say, Nurgle's forces will be a colorful lot, even if they mostly do come in shades of puss-green and sewer-brown.

When it comes to their battlefield strategy, it should come as little surprise to hear that attrition is the name of the game for Nurgle's deamons. You'll need to first weaken your enemies through a combination of magic, artillery and harassment tactics, after which your slow-moving but highly durable infantry should be able to churn through them with ease. And considering that recruiting new units is instantaneous for Nurgle, even losing a couple of frontliners shouldn't be too big of an issue.

You can read more about each individual unit, as well as their role on the battlefield, over at the Total War website. Enjoy, and just for good measure I'll leave you with the original reveal trailer showing off Nurgle's corpulent companions in combat:
