Ten days ago Creative Assembly announced Total War: Warhammer 2, a rather hefty sequel/expansion set in the "New World". It will bring with it four new races to toy around with (High Elves, Dark Elves, Lizardmen, and most likely Skaven), unique gameplay and campaign mechanics for each one, as well as the ability to link Total War: Warhammer and its sequel together into one giant world!
The announcement didn't bring with it much in terms of concrete details, but worry not as the developers have recently posted a video detailing their vision and plans for Total War: Warhammer 2. So if you're interested in seeing how the new races are shaping up, as well as what you can expect from the sequel, you'll find the video right below:
While all the new information is certainly very exciting, what brings me the most joy is that the developers are finally working on making the maps look and feel unique. In Total War: Warhammer you pretty much have to use massive custom map packs (which are naturally of varying quality) in order to get maps that aren't just a flat piece of land with some trees scattered around. So here's to hoping Total War: Warhammer 2 will manage to make jungles feel different from deserts, and all of that vastly different from the Dark Elf mountains.
Total War: Warhammer 2 is set to arrive at some point in 2017, though there is no release date set just yet. And finally, if you would like to learn more I would recommend heading over to Steam as its currently the best source of information.
