[Update #2]: Total War: Troy's Amazons DLC has now landed, and it's about as fun as you'd expect.

[Update]: Total War: Troy's Amazons DLC is charging in on September 24th and will be free for two weeks!

If you've been playing Total War: Troy over the past few weeks, it's highly likely you've noticed just how much stronger chariots are than most units. Not only are they fast enough to catch even the lightest of enemies, but they're also powerful enough that almost nothing can withstand their charge. If played well, a group of chariots can almost singlehandedly route half of the enemy army, which is obviously far from ideal.

However, no matter how powerful chariots are, the spies are by far the strongest units in the entirety of Troy. After unlocking all of the damaging traits, one spy action can absolutely decimate a major city's garrison, thus making it easy pickings for even mediocre armies. And I'm not exaggerating here either - we're talking about the spies killing more than 50% of the fully upgraded garrison in the span of a single second!

With all of that in mind, I am very pleased to say that Creative Assembly has unleashed a brand new update with nerfs to both units. Chariots are now noticeably less durable in melee combat, while the spy's "poison the well" ability has been significantly reduced in power, though it still remains quite effective.

The update has also improved the performance, fixed up a variety of bugs, as well as corrected how quests trigger in order to avoid some silly situations. So if you're curious about the details, you should head on over to the official website to check out the full patch notes.

As a final note, it's also worth mentioning that the Amazons DLC will be arriving at some point this September. The exact release date hasn't been announced just yet, but the good news is that the Amazons will be entirely free to grab!

The only thing you'll need is a Total War Access account, which if you're playing Total War: Warhammer 2, you should already have given that some of the free DLC is linked to it. Either way, once the full reveal goes live, I'll make sure to let you know.
