Hob is an exploration focused adventure that will have you solve puzzles and defeat monsters in order to keep moving ever-forward through a rather bizarre and alien world. But most interestingly of all, as you solve puzzles and unlock new secrets the world itself will start warping and changing, potentially opening up previously unseen paths and even greater dangers.

Given how that sounds a bit confusing, especially since the developers like to call Hob's world a "Rubik's cube that's collapsed in on itself", you'll be glad to hear that they have released an extremely lengthy preview showcasing pretty much every aspect of gameplay in action. So if you're curious about Hob, and you've got 30 minutes to spare, you'll find the video right below:

While I obviously need to get my hands on it before I can say anything for certain, this gameplay preview appears to be something I would have a lot of fun with. I'm a big fan of games that focus around exploration and open-ended worlds, so to see this much this much variety in what is essentially the "first level" is rather refreshing. Hopefully the release version will have even more reasons to go off the beaten path and see what is there to see!

And speaking of release dates, I am afraid that Hob doesn't have one just yet, though it is apparently "coming soon". So unless there's some sort of delay I have a feeling we'll be seeing Hob in early 2017 given how finished this alpha/beta build appears to be. And as a final note, if you would like to learn more about Hob I would recommend you head over to either Steam or the official website. There isn't much available right now, but at least you can check out some more videos and screenshots like these:
