State of Decay 2 official artwork and logo

State of Decay is a bit of an unpolished game, but despite all of its flaws its still one of the most enjoyable zombie survival games out there, purely because it manages to hit all of the notes the genre is famous for. You need to fortify and maintain a home base, venture out into the wasteland to find supplies and food for your ever-growing colony, stealth your way through hordes of zombies as gunfire tends to draw more of them, and overall try to keep your extremely demoralized companions alive for another day.

As such I am very glad to say that during the recent E3 convention we not only got an announcement for State of Decay 2, but it also appears to follow in exactly the same footsteps as the original! If you're wondering what all of that means in terms of gameplay, here's the recently posted trailer:

While the announcement trailer did not cover this, it is very important to mention that State of Decay 2 will feature co-op, something players have been begging the developers for ever since the original launched. How exactly all of it will work, I'm afraid I don't know, but the important thing is that we'll be able to brave the zombie apocalypse with a couple of friends close by. I mean, if you ever get swarmed by a horde of zombies you obviously need someone to act as a distraction while you run away!

State of Decay 2 will be coming to PC and Xbox One in the Spring of 2018, though no specific date has been given just yet. If you would like to learn a little bit more, and the emphasis is unfortunately on little, you should head over to the Xbox website.
