Dishonored: Death of the Outsider screenshot of Billie Lurk looking quite cool

[Update]: Thanks to a partnership between Bethesda and GOG, the entire Dishonored series and the first two modern Wolfenstein games are now available DRM-free.

Dishonored: Death of the Outsider is a standalone adventure that will have us plan and execute the most ambitious (and probably suicidal) assassination the world has ever seen: getting rid of the Outsider! In order to make this even remotely possible we'll be given access to a variety of new weapons, gadgets and powers, as well as the help of the always-awesome Daud.

While the recently posted launch trailer won't give you a detailed overview of everything Death of the Outsider brings to the table, it should still be enough to let you know what kind of game you're stepping into. Have a look:

I haven't had the time to play it myself, so take the following with a few grains of salt, but it would appear that Death of the Outsider is quite good, albeit with some annoying flaws. The gameplay is a natural evolution of what Dishonored 2 had to offer, so if you enjoyed that chances are you'll also have a blast with Death of the Outsider, though the story hasn't fared nearly as well. I didn't do much research into this as I want to avoid spoilers, but apparently both Billie Lurk and the Outsider are written completely out of character, so do be warned if you're planning to grab Death of the Outsider purely because of the new lore. Its obviously not something that's going to completely ruin it for you, but its still well worth mentioning.

If you would like to learn more, or just grab yourself a copy, you should visit either Steam or the official website. I'd also recommend reading through the user reviews as they do bring up some rather interesting criticisms. And finally, allow me to leave you with a brief video showing off most of the new powers and gadgets. Enjoy!
