Official concept artwork for a village in Guild Wars 1

The original Guild Wars is currently celebrating its fourteenth anniversary, and in order to get everyone into the festive spirit ArenaNet has now released a brand new update. There is no new content as most of the developers are still quite busy with Guild Wars 2, but I am glad to say that the update has brought in some rather nice quality of life changes.

The Augur of Kormir costume has made a return, there is now a master volume slider, while both NPC and player movement has been made slightly more consistent. The anniversary update has also added an in-game clock, a borderless windowed mode, the ability to finally lock compass rotation, as well as a variety of bug fixes.

That's pretty much everything as far as major improvements are concerned, but if you're interested in more details, you can find what you seek over at the official wiki.

Additionally, the original Guild Wars collection will be on a 50% discount until May 7th, bringing the price down to €20. So if you ever wanted to give the original a try and see just how it compares to Guild Wars 2, this would be a pretty good time to do so.

Have fun!
