Dark Souls 3 Regulation Ver 1.06 is coming April 28

If you've attempted to PvP through either Blade of the Darkmoon or Blue Sentinels covenant you most likely noticed that its almost impossible to find anyone to fight, either because there is no one in the Way of Blue that requires protection, or due to some sort of matchmaking issue.

Thankfully, the Regulation Ver 1.06 update is being released tomorrow in order to fix exactly that issue, as well as the overabundance of short swords in PvP, general balance problems, and so forth. There are currently no patch notes available, but FromSoftware have released a brief summary of what to expect:

"Ashen Ones,

A new Regulation version will be updated to adjust the game balance on Dark Souls III on Thursday, April 28th. It will not require an additional maintenance.

Main Adjustements:

The range of the matching level of the Blade of the Darkmoon and the Blue Sentinels have been adjusted.

The efficiency of the following categories has been adjusted: Short Sword, Twinsword and Magic.

Other game balance improvement and bug fixes."

If you ask me this patch can't come any sooner, because after playing Dark Souls 3 for who knows how many hours I've only managed to get a single invasion through the Darkmoon covenant... against an opponent that was so clumsy he immediately dodged straight in to a bottomless pit.

Also, here's to hoping the Dark Sword gets a bit of an adjustment because its rather depressing to see it do the same damage as greatswords, but without any of the drawbacks or stamina requirements that come with the use of weapons not meant for mortal men.

Finally, if you're interested in my detailed review and thoughts on Dark Souls 3 you can find it here, and if you're wondering about the quality of the PC port I'd suggest you head over here instead.
