Anthem screenshot of characters with jetpacks

Anthem is Bioware's upcoming co-op focused action-RPG that seems to be all about mowing down hordes of enemies while flying around with the help of a rather badass-looking jetpack. Exciting, yet still fairly standard stuff in today's day and age. Where Anthem really manages to raise some eyebrows, however, is in the claim that it will also continue Bioware's focus on storytelling and decision-making despite ostensibly being a multiplayer shoot-and-loot type of game.

How exactly they're planning to accomplish this, Bioware hasn't specified just yet, but if you're wondering what exactly the story and the world will be about, you'll find some of the answers you seek in the latest trailer below. Have a look, if for no other reason than the lovely visuals:

Personally, I'll choose to remain cautiously optimistic about Anthem. On one hand, almost everything Bioware has shown so far looks like it could rival some of the most enjoyable co-op shooters like Borderlands or Destiny. However, I also thought the same about Mass Effect: Andromeda and its rather beautiful trailers, and we all know how that one turned out. So if you're like me and you're currently on the fence, I would highly recommend you get comfortable and remain there until we get some more gameplay details.

After all, Anthem will be releasing this February 22nd for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4, so chances are Bioware will start releasing some much more in-depth gameplay previews soon. Once they do I'll make sure to let you know, but until then you should visit the official website to learn more.
