Pathfinder: Kingmaker is an upcoming singleplayer isometric RPG with a bit of a twist. Instead of adventuring through dark caves and creepy castles in an effort to save the world, in Pathfinder: Kingmaker you will be trying to establish your very own kingdom in the unsurprisingly hostile Stolen Lands. To do this you will need to blaze a path through the wilderness, deal with any troublesome local warlords, but also adventure through dark caves and creepy castles in order to uncover their ancient secrets - it is an RPG after all!
If this sounds like something you might enjoy you'll be glad to hear that Pathfinder: Kingmaker has now been successfully funded on Kickstarter. With the intial goal of $500,000 fully secured the developers are now turning towards stretch goals that currently include a greatly improved and much more interesting version of camping, as well as one of my favorite archetypes in RPGs: the sword-wielding mage.
To learn more about Pathfinder: Kingmaker and what exactly it hopes to accomplish I would suggest heading over to either the official website or the Kickstarter page. But if you're looking for just one bit of information that might get you interested in Pathfinder: Kingmaker, allow me to just say that Chris Avellone will be handling the narrative design. If the name doesn't ring any bells, Avellone had a pivotal role in some of the best RPGs ever created: Fallout 2, Planescape: Torment, Fallout: New Vegas, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2, and the list goes on. In other words, chances are good that Pathfinder is going to have one rather intriguing storyline!
As for the release date, the current estimate is that Pathfinder: Kingmaker will arrive in the summer of 2018. However, since this is a Kickstarter project we're talking about I wouldn't get overly attached to that release date as its almost guaranteed to be pushed back at least a little bit.
