The Epic Games Store, Epic' competitor to Steam and other similar storefronts, has just recently gone live with a small but quality selection of games. So in order to get as many people as possible to at least check it out, Epic have announced that they will be giving away a new game every two weeks throughout 2019!

The first on the list, as you would imagine from the title alone, is the excellent undersea exploration/adventure game Subnautica. In order to secure yourself a copy you should head on over to the Epic Games Store, create or log in with your account, and then click on that giant "Free" button. It's a fairly straightforward process, but just make sure not to take too long as Subnautica will only be available until December 27th.

As for whether Subnautica is actually worth your time, I would wholeheartedly say yes! I don't think I've ever seen a game that has successfully captured the serene beauty and unimaginable horror of undersea exploration as well as Subnautica has, and I say that without even a shred of hyperbole. So while its particular blend of exploration and crafting might not be for everyone, it's such a unique and interesting experience that I would highly recommend you at least give it a try, especially if you have some VR equipment on hand. Just be warned, things do get quite tense once you start diving into the darkness!

Rather than continue to babble on, allow me to share with you one of the trailers. It should give you a pretty good idea of what to expect, as well as why I have such a high opinion of Subnautica. Have fun, and try not to get chomped on by the various leviathans!
