In The Evil Within 2 you will be playing as Detective Sebastian Castellanos who is forced to partner up with the shadowy organization Mobius in order to save his daughter. Since this is a horror game we're talking about things quickly take a turn for the worst and the once simple mission swiftly descends into pure madness.

If you're wondering what kind of madness this might be, wonder no more as Bethesda has just posted a brief trailer showcasing both the story and some of the abominations we'll be fighting against in our search for the truth. Have a look, and don't worry about spoilers as all of the dialogue is about as ambiguous as it gets:

I'm not really invested into the story as it appears to be the exact same narrative we've seen a hundred times already, but what I do like is the monster design! One of the best things about the old Silent Hill games was how they could make even the most normal things into hideous abominations with an entire story behind them, so to see something similar in The Evil Within 2 is definitely a good sign. I mean, there's a monster that's essentially a camera with legs!
