The Elder Scrolls Online official artwork for the Summerset expansion

Quite a few months have passed since The Elder Scrolls Online's Morrowind expansion, so if you're itching for another major dose of content you'll be glad to hear that a brand new expansion will be coming in the near future. Instead of the bizarre yet familiar lands of Morrowind, the Summerset expansion will be taking place in the fabled home of the High Elves, an area that has not made an appearance since the very first Elder Scrolls game!

Besides all of the new zones to explore, Summerset will also come with a lengthy storyline that links back to the Orisinum DLC, a new "Psijic Order" to join in order to unlock a whole set of new abilities, as well as the option to craft jewelry with powerful attributes and effects. Naturally, there will also be new world bosses, delves, public dungeons, and even all-new group challenges to overcome.

If you're wondering what all of this looks like in-game, allow me to share with you two of the latest trailers. The first video is a brief cinematic teaser that sets up the tone and atmosphere, while the second one is a gameplay preview that shows off some of the areas you'll get to explore and enemies you'll get to square off against. Have a gander:

The Elder Scrolls Online: Summerset will be coming to PC and consoles this June 5th at a $40 price tag. While it is a little bit pricey, it is worth mentioning that Summerset will come with both the base copy of ESO and the Morrowind expansion, so for new players it is definitely a pretty darn good deal. If you already own all of the major content, then you'll be able to purchase Summerset at a slightly reduced price, $30 to be specific.

Whether you're a complete beginner or a veteran player, you'll be able to start your adventures in Summerset the moment it launches, regardless of how much you've actually played the base game. Perhaps more importantly, high-level players will be able to fully cooperate with beginners throughout the entire Summerset expansion as the game will scale itself depending on each player's individual level. A relatively small feature, but a highly welcome one when it comes to introducing new players into a long-standing MMO.

You can learn a little bit more about Summerset, as well as the various pre-order packs, by heading over to the official website.
