Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition screenshot showing off various characters

After nearly decades of silence, the PC finally started getting a decent chunk of JRPGs a few years ago, albeit with quite a delay. Things have progressed rather nicely since then, and I am very glad to announce that the freshly remastered Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition has now arrived for PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and the Nintendo Switch simultaneously!

The Definitive Edition brings with it fully updated graphics, brand new music tracks, new bosses and storyline, as well as a collection of previously unreleased cosmetic DLC. Perhaps most importantly, especially for those of you that played the original, the Definitive Edition has also brought with it two additional playable characters - Patty Fleur and Flynn Scifo.

I haven't played the Definitive Edition myself, so take the following with a few grains of salt, but from what I can tell it is an excellent remaster of an already great game. So if you're a fan of the genre, and especially if you're a fan of the "Tales of" series, it does appear like Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition is well worth checking out! On the other hand, if you're completely new and currently worried about starting midway through the series and being thoroughly confused, worry not as this is a Final Fantasy situation where each new game is pretty much self contained.

You can learn more about Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition, as well as the series itself, by visiting either the official website or Steam. And as a final note, allow me to leave you with the most recent trailer showing off the HD visuals. Enjoy!
