That's it, that is literally the whole announcement. I wish I was joking but that's the extent of the information we know about System Shock 3 right now.

The one thing we do know is that its being made by Otherside Entertainment whom you might recognize from their successful Ultima Ascendant Kickstarter. While the company itself is relatively new they do have a bunch of developers that worked on the old Ultima and, you guessed it, System Shock games so if there's anyone that understands what makes System Shock 2 so good its probably going to be these guys.

Not to mention that they have Warren Spector either working with them or as a consultant! If you don't know why this excites me you only need to look at all of the game series he's been a major part of: Wing Commander series, Ultima VI up to VII and expansions, Thief, Deus Ex and finally System Shock. That is an impressive array of games to have under one's belt and seeing him excited for a project tends to give me a lot of hope in it.
