[Update #2]: Subnautica: Below Zero will be leaving Early Access and launching in full on May 14, 2021.

[Update]: The next major update, Lost Ship, has now arrived with a boatload of new content to explore.

Much like how it went with the original Subnautica, progress on Subnautica: Below Zero seems to be chugging along nice and steady. It's only been a little while since the last major update expanded the world and added the mighty Ice Worm, and already we have a similar-sized update.

The freshly introduced Deep Dive update brings with it several new underwater biomes to explore, two new creatures to endlessly annoy while you traverse the map, as well as the Shadow Leviathan to give you a lovely, warm welcome to the Crystal Caverns. Most importantly of all, at least from a story perspective, we can now interact with one of the characters from the original Subnautica!

If you don't really care about the mild spoiler and are simply curious about the new update and its contents, allow me to share with you the recently posted trailer. Have a peek:

On a somewhat unrelated note, it's also worth mentioning that Subnautica: Below Zero will soon be making drastic changes to its entire storyline. This is partly because the lead writer left for another project, and partly because the team just wasn't all that happy with how the character relationships were progressing. As such, don't get too attached to anything you see throughout the Deep Dive update as there is no guarantee it'll remain once the next patch arrives.

Until then, you can learn more about the Deep Dive update, as well as Subnautica: Below Zero itself, over at the official website. Good luck in the ocean!
