Subnautica: Below Zero artwork for icy caverns and the seamoth

[Update]: The Subnautica team is now working on a "wholly unique" turn-based strategy game.

After a myriad of updates and a massive story rework, Subnautica: Below Zero has now finally been released from Steam Early Access. So if you're in the mood for once again exploring the depths of Planet 4546B, this would the ideal time to dive in as the launch has been remarkably smooth, even on the technical side of things!

As for what exactly you can expect in terms of gameplay, that you can find out through the recently posted trailer. Have a gander, it's quite a pretty one:

While I've only played it for about an hour today, my impression so far is that Subnautica: Below Zero is basically Subnautica: But More. There's a bunch of new areas to explore, a bunch of new items to craft, a bunch of new quality of life changes and improvements, yet at its very core it's still the same relaxing (and occasionally extremely stressful) Subnautica experience. So if you loved your time with the original, chances are Subnautica: Below Zero will be a rather entertaining ride as well.

You can read more about Subnautica: Below Zero, as well as check out some of the user reviews, over at Steam. Have fun, and watch out for those dastardly sea monkeys!
