Star Wars Battlefront 2 will be coming to PC and consoles this November 17th, bringing with it a much larger variety of content than its predecessor. There will be a whole bunch of planets and maps to explore, a space-based combat mode with its own mechanics and unique vehicles, a plethora of different weapons and vehicles from some of the most popular Star Wars time periods, and most surprisingly of all, a singleplayer story starring an Imperial commander.

The recently posted trailer won't offer you much of a look at campaign gameplay, but it will give you a good idea of just what kind of storyline the developers are aiming for. Have a look, its not a very long video:

While I might be expecting too much from what is essentially a multiplayer-only game, I really do hope Battlefront 2 will stick to its guns and have the entire story focus on the Imperium. They're just as human (or alien) as the Rebellion, but their side of the story very rarely gets told, which is why I'm quite excited to see where Battlefront 2 will take things. Though to be perfectly honest, as long as it doesn't end with our character switching to the other side because of the cartoonishly evil Empire I'll be happy.

My little rant aside, if you would like to learn more about Star Wars Battlefront 2 and its story, you should head over to the official website. As for the release date, you can expect to see it on PC and consoles this November 17th. And finally, here's one of the earlier singleplayer story trailers, just to give you a better idea of what to expect. Enjoy!
