Soulcalibur VI official battle screenshot

After a rather lengthy hiatus since Soulcalibur V's 2012 release, the classic fighting game series will hopefully be making a triumphant return this October 19th on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. You can expect to see a variety of new characters including The Witcher 3's Geralt, improved gameplay mechanics and additional moves such as counter-attacks, as well as numerous offline and online game modes.

If you're wondering what exactly those modes will be, and you don't mind the fact that most of the video is in Japanese, you'll find the answers you seek in the recently posted trailer down below. Have a look, you should be able to figure things out quite quickly despite of the language barrier:

Personally, I am glad to see that Soulcalbur VI will be focusing quite heavily on singleplayer modes. Online competition is all well and good, but sometimes I really just want to sit down and complete a couple of interesting challenges in peace, and that seems to be exactly what Soulcalibur VI is going for. So while I'm still not a massive fan of fighting games, I must admit I'm rather curious to see how all of this will pan out.

So if you share my curiosity and you're interested in Soulcalibur VI, you should head on over to the official website or Steam to learn more, as well as follow any future developer updates. And just for good measure, allow me to leave you with the latest trailer for Cervantes. Enjoy!
