For those of you that might not be aware, Sonic Mania is a brand new 2D Sonic game heavily inspired by the original. There will be new zones and remixed classic levels, new gameplay mechanics to keep that "gotta go fast" attitude alive despite the various platforming challenges, and three playable characters to toy around with: Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles.

There is currently no release date set for Sonic Mania, but according to a recent announcement its going to come in the second quarter of 2017.
