For those of you that might not know, Skywind is an unofficial community mod that aims to recreate the entirety of TES: Morrowind within the much superior Skyrim engine. While these sort of projects usually fall apart the moment any actual work needs to be done, the team behind Skywind has been trucking along for a very, very long time - and the results are quite spectacular to behold!

With every subsequent update the once familiar grounds of Skyrim are becoming more and more alien, and the usually cheerful atmosphere is slowly giving way to the Morrowind's specific brand of gloom. In other words, Skywind is well on its way to actually accomplishing the task it set out to do! If you don't believe me, have a look at the recently posted October Progress Update video:

Given that even this early version of Skywind looks pretty damn good I'm sure many of you are now wondering how you can give it a try, but I am afraid I will have to disappoint you there. While Skywind might look finished in these trailers, the reality of the situation is that its still nowhere near completion given that the team is attempting to tackle the 'simple' job of recreating the entirety of TES: Morrowind. As such, there is currently no public download link available.

However, if you're willing to volunteer your skills and join the Skywind team, you'll be glad to hear that they are always looking for more people to help them out. Pretty much everything from voice acting, to scripting, and even animating is in high demand, so if you feel like giving a hand - the option is available to you. And finally, if you would like to learn more about Skywind, or just check out its progress so far, the official website is where you should go.
