Back in September of 2017 Square Enix announced a brand new Tomb Raider game, though sadly they didn't reveal any gameplay details or even the title. While the gameplay improvements are still shrouded in mystery, you might be interested to hear that the next Tomb Raider game will be called Shadow of the Tomb Raider, and that it will be arriving on September 14th.

This information comes to us from the recently posted teaser trailer, so if you would like to get a little bit of a sneak peek at Shadow of the Tomb Raider, you'll find the video right below. Don't get too excited, however, as the teaser trailer offers very little in terms of actual details. On the positive side, at least it's pretty to look at! Anyway, have a gander:

I would love to tell you more, but I'm afraid this is literally everything Square Enix or Crystal Dynamics were willing to share. To learn more you'll have to wait until April 27th as that will be Shadow of the Tomb Raider's full reveal.

On a slight side note, I have to commend both Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics for announcing Shadow of the Tomb Raider so close to it's release date. There is nothing worse than getting excited for a new game, only to hear that it won't be coming for the next few years (hello Cryberpunk 2077).

Besides, having a smaller time frame between the full announcement and the actual release is much better for both sides as it keeps the hype going while also giving people enough of a reason to keep the game in their minds. A small courtesy in the grand scheme of things, but one I can certainly appreciate, so good on you Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics!
