Sea of Thieves is a multiplayer focused pirate adventure and exploration game that's all about sailing the high seas, searching for hidden treasure, pillaging ships piloted by other players, and then hopefully making it back to port before someone else returns the favor. A fairly simple concept, but as the recently held beta tests have proven, it's one with a great deal of potential.
If you haven't given Sea of Thieves a try by now and you're wondering what it's all about, allow me to share with you the most recent gameplay trailer. It's not very lengthy or detailed, but it's a decent snapshot of what you can expect to see. Have a look:
While I had a great deal of fun with one the recent beta tests, I would still recommend waiting for proper reviews before springing for your wallet. The reason I say this is because I started getting bored after only ~6 hours of playtime, which doesn't really bode well for a game that's touted as something you'll constantly keep coming back to. It is entirely possible the release version will bring with it plenty of new content to enjoy, in which case I fully recommend you check Sea of Thieves out, but until that has been confirmed I will once again advise you go with the "wait and see" approach.
Sea of Thieves will be releasing on Windows 10 and Xbox One this March 20th. You can learn more, as well as check out some of the other gameplay videos, by heading over to the official website.
