Rift's Starfall Prophecy expansion screenshot showing off a demon

Rift has seen many changes and content updates ever since it transitioned to free-to-play back in 2013, but the upcoming premium expansion Starfall Prophecy is set to blow all of that out of the water by drastically increasing the map size and adding a whole bunch of new features.

In short, Starfall Prophecy brings with it five massive new zones to explore, two dungeons and a raid to bash your head against, as well as new Looking for Raid and Personal Loot systems to ensure all of that exploring goes by smoothly. On the less... tangible side of things, the addition of multicore support and 64-bit client technology should mean that the performance will increase across the board.

If you're interested in getting a bit of a sneak peek at Starfall Prophecy, here's the recently posted and all too brief teaser trailer:

Besides the features mentioned above, Starfall Prophecy will also increase the player cap to level 70, add a new crafting tier and more guild levels, as well as a whole set of new Legendary Powers which build upon the existing Soul system. The final announced feature are the Fortress Sieges, open-world battles that increase in size and complexity and can be attempted solo, in a group, or even in a raid. As of right now I'm not sure if these are made to be PvP or PvE content, but I'm sure more will be revealed as we get closed to launch.

Speaking of which, Starfall Prophecy is set to arrive this fall, and if you are so inclined you can pre-order the expansion for $40 in order to receive a level 65 boost right now, along with a couple of other goodies. On the other hand, if you simply want to learn more or just look at some pretty screenshots, head over to the official website.
