[Update #2]: Relic has just unveiled a full-length multiplayer match between the Holy Roman Empire and Rus factions.

[Update]: Age of Empires 4's newest gameplay preview shows off a mixture of nostalgia and innovation.

If you're like me and you've somehow managed to completely miss this announcement during gamescom 2017, you might be glad to hear that Relic Entertainment is now working on the long-awaited Age of Empires 4! There are basically no details available right now, but given how Relic has the Homeworld, Dawn of War, and Company of Heroes series of RTS games under their belt I would say its worth getting cautiously optimistic about Age of Empires 4.

The most recent teaser trailer is similarly devoid of information and gameplay details, but on the positive side it does have some rather lovely artwork and narration! Have a look, its not a very long video:

I would love to tell you more, but pretty much the only concrete piece of information we have right now is that Age of Empires 4 will be a Windows 10 exclusive game. If you would like to follow its development moving forward, however, I would recommend heading over to the official website. Once Relic releases some more information I'll make sure to cover it as I'm a big fan of the Age of Empires series myself, but for now I'm afraid all we can do is sit and wait.
