Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire official artwork and logo

While I encountered very few bugs while I was working on my Pillars of Eternity 2 review, during my second and more recent playthrough I ended up running into a variety of issues. Most notably, trying to side-step some of the key story points and simply going to the end of the quest would occasionally result in some highly inaccurate dialogue and rather strange NPC behavior.

With that in mind, I am very glad to say that the most recent update has corrected many of these issues. There are far too many of them to simply list out, so if you're interested in all of the details you should head over here. The quest changes do contain quite a few spoilers, for obvious reasons, so I would recommend avoiding that section until you're done with your playthrough.

The things I feel are worth highlighting, however, are the couple of quality-of-life improvements that came with the update as well. The reputation screen will now tell you what sort of choices led to changes in your relationships, the stash now finally has a search feature and you can shift-click items into it without having to constantly fiddle with the stack sizes, and there is now a brand new UI to highlight crew injuries. None of these are massive changes in the grand scheme of things, but all of them make the gameplay experience just a little bit smoother, and that is something I can certainly appreciate.
