To say that Peter Molyneux and his 22cans studio have a poor reputation would be one hell of an understatement given that the still-unfinished Godus currently sports a 4% approval rating on Steam. Despite all of this it would appear that 22cans is now preparing to release another game on Steam, though this time around as an actual game and not simply an early-alpha experiment.

The Trail: Frontier Challenge will be a casual 3rd person adventure game where the goal is to explore, collect and refine resources, and then trade those resources with other players as you journey towards the town of Eden Falls. You can get a quick peek at what all of this looks like in gameplay terms through the recently posted announcement video:

There is currently no release date available, but according to the Steam page The Trail: Frontier Challenge will be coming to PC this Summer. To learn more you should head over to either Steam or the official website. Just make sure temper your expectations because 22cans' history so far has been one of constant failure and broken promises. So while I do hope they turn things around and make The Trail something truly special, I don't think I'll be holding my breath. And as a final note, here's a couple of images:
