While Diablo 3 languishes due to a lack of support from Blizzard, Path of Exile is moving forward at an increasingly rapid pace. It has only been a couple of days since the last patch that brought with it massive performance improvements and new skills to toy around with, and already there is an even bigger patch on the horizon!

The aptly named Breach update brings with it two new leagues, each offering a fresh start and a brand new economy, as well as a variety of new events centered around... you guessed it, breaches! These portals into the shadow realm will spew forth a variety of monsters, and should you manage to not only beat them, but also destroy their overlord within his very domain, you will have a chance to grab a whole host of shiny new items. If you're a bit confused as to how all of this will work, here's a brief trailer to clue you in:

The Breach update and its accompanying Leagues are set to arrive on December 2nd. So if you're interested in learning a little bit more about it, or at the very least checking out some of the nifty new fire-based items, I would suggest you head over to the POE website. On the other hand, if you're looking for more details behind the Breachlords and what in the world they even are, I'm afraid you'll have to wait for the update to finally arrive as GGG isn't well known for revealing their cards before the game even begins.

On a somewhat unrelated note, if you've never played Path of Exile, but hold at least a little bit of interest in the ARPG genre, I would heartily recommend you give it a try. You can read all of the details by heading over to one of my previous articles, but long story short, it is quite possibly the best ARPG ever made and a worthy successor to Diablo 2, even though they don't share the name. And with the new Leagues coming on December 2nd you'll have a chance to start on an equal playing field with everyone else, so why not give it a shot?
