It has been a mere few months since Path of Exile's ridiculously massive The Fall of Oriath expansion arrived, and already the developers are planning another large batch of content. The upcoming War for the Atlas expansion will bring with it a variety of new bosses and enemies, 10 new spells to play around with, 32 new maps to explore, a completely reworked end-game progression system, numerous new unique items and modifiers, and the list goes on for quite a while.

If you're interested in seeing what all of this might look like in-game, you'll find the recently posted teaser trailer down below. Its a little bit on the lengthy side, but I'd still recommend you give it a look as its quite a fascination video:

Besides all of the new content, there will also be two new Abyss Leagues offering a fresh start to all players. The details are still in short supply, but you can expect to see hordes of enemies spill forth from the underworld as you journey across Wraeclast. In exchange for this added difficulty, the new enemies will drop valuable Abyss Jewels that will allow you to customize your characters and items in brand new ways. What exactly that might mean, I'm afraid we'll have to wait for a little while in order to find out as the developers will be releasing more information next week.

If you would like to learn more, or if you just want to see what some of the new spells and items are all about, you should head on over to the official website. As for the release date, Path of Exile: War for the Atlas will be coming this December 8th on PC, and shortly afterwards on Xbox One as well.
