Overwatch's final update Anniversary Remix: Vol. 3 screenshot of Genjiman Genji recolor

[Update]: Overwatch 2's new characters will be locked behind the free track of the Battle Pass.

All good things must eventually come to an end, and so Overwatch has now unleashed its final event, and very likely final update as well. Anniversary Remix: Vol. 3 brings with it some fancy recolors of highly popular skins like Academy D.Va and Sentai Genji, the ability to snag all of the previous event skins at a (mostly) cheaper price, as well as a rotating playlist of event-exclusive game modes and missions.

Since the cosmetics are most likely the reason you're even curious about the event, allow me to share with you the freshly posted trailer highlighting all of them in action. Have a little peek:

Blizzard has also taken this opportunity to announce that once the Anniversary Remix: Vol. 3 event ends on August 30th, Loot Boxes will no longer be available for purchase. Thankfully, you'll still be able to earn them normally by just playing the game, so it's honestly no big loss.

That said, there is one thing you might want to do as quickly as possible - grab any of the festive skins you fancy, as this event might be your last chance to do so for a very long time. Once Overwatch 2 arrives all of your original Overwatch currency will remain, but we currently have no idea what it will actually be useful for. So unless you feel like gambling in the vain hope that you'll be able to spend it for some Overwatch 2 stuff, your best bet is to use it all on the currently time-limited cosmetics so you can have them carry over to Overwatch 2.

Whatever your decision may be, you can learn more about the Anniversary Remix: Vol. 3 event, as well as keep an eye on any future developer updates, by hopping to the Overwatch website. Enjoy!
