Overgrowth is an incredibly detailed 3D action game where you get to beat up hordes of enemies as an anthropomorphic bunny with a serious case of anger management issues. You can fight your enemies in hand-to-hand combat, take them down through stealth, throw them onto environmental hazards in order to deal with them quickly, and the list goes on for quite a while. All of this might sound simple, but it has taken Overgrowth more than nine years to get everything just right!
With the official release now looming ever-closer, the developers have finally achieved one of their biggest milestones - a full story campaign. The recently posted trailer won't show you much in terms of story, but it will give you a pretty damn good idea of just what to expect from the campaign itself. Have a look, its quite a flashy video:
As far as new content is concerned, this update has added a bit of a unique flare to each of the different animals, as well as the ability to impale or get impaled by spikes. Cat-like enemies can now throw their off-hand weapons (such as daggers) in order to take you down from range, while rats can attach various bits of the scenery to themselves in order to hopefully get a jump on you. There are also a whole bunch of balance changes and bug fixes, so if you're interested in all of the details you will find the full patch notes right here.
If you would like to learn just a little bit more, or grab yourself a copy, you should head over to either the official website or Steam. As for the release date, nothing has been confirmed just yet, but Overgrowth is definitely in its final stages of development. After well over nine years, the end is finally in sight!
