[Update]: I hope you're in the mood for something different, because the freshly announced One Piece Odyssey will be an expansive turn-based RPG.

One Piece: World Seeker is an upcoming action-adventure based on the (you guessed it) One Piece manga and animated series. It'll bring with it a good chunk of the fan-favorite characters from the series, a rather large open-world to explore, and naturally, a whole boatload of bad guys to beat up in a variety of creative ways.

If you're a fan of the show and all of this sounds like it's right up your alley, I'm afraid I bring some 'bad' news. In a surprisingly brief press release, Bandai Namco has announced that One Piece: World Seeker will be moving its release date to 2019 in order to ensure it "matches the fans' expectations".

While I know basically nothing about the show itself, I can tell you that this delay is a fairly positive thing overall. There have been numerous complaints about the playable demo over at Gamescom, and even some of the official gameplay footage released so far showed a game that just doesn't have that special 'something' that really grabs your interest and keeps you playing until the end. So while it sucks having to wait for a while long, I do believe a few months of extra polish will end up working out in everyone's favor.

You can learn more about One Piece: World Seeker, as well as follow any future developer updates, over at the official website. And as a final note, I'll send you off with one of the Gamescom trailers, just for good measure. Enjoy!
