Pillars of Eternity 2 official artwork and logo

Back in February Obsidian successfully crowdfunded Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire, the much-requested sequel to one of the best received modern cRPGs. If you're wondering just how anticipated it was, let's just say that it managed to garner ~400% of its original funding goal, eventually ending the Fig campaign with an impressive $4,407,598!

While the release date is still shrouded in mystery, I am very glad to say that Obsidian has now revealed an early gameplay trailer, just as a little teaser for things that are to come. Have a gander, its not a very long video, but its definitely well worth a look if you've played the original:

There is very little information currently available, especially when it comes to the whole ship exploration business, but if you would like to learn just a bit more you should head over to the official website.

On the other hand, if you pledged at a tier that includes access to the Backer Beta, you might be very interested to hear that the beta has now begun! You can get your key for either Steam or GOG by visiting the Products Page on your account, after which you can consult the official forums for installation information or just a brief overview of the currently active features. And before you ask, no, I'm afraid the player-owned ship is not yet available for play. Have fun, and I'll leave you with the most recent Developer Update:
