Obsidian has recently released an expansion for Tyranny and is currently working on the long-awaited Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire sequel. Given how massive both of those projects are, I must admit I'm quite surprised to announce that Obsidian is currently hard at work on yet another game!

All of this information comes from the recently posted Tweet listing all of Obsidian's major games, as well as a mysterious new addition that's currently simply titled as "???". What that game might be, I'm afraid I don't know for certain, but what I can tell you is that its not going to be an expansion or DLC as all of those are missing from the list.

If you're willing to indulge me in a bit of speculation, however, I have an interesting theory to share. Obsidian has slowly been gathering developers behind classic RPGs such as Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines and Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura, developers like Tim Cain and Leonard Boyarksy, so it wouldn't be too much of a stretch for Obsidian to try and revive some of these ancient games, especially when you consider how much of a cult following they have even today. Licenses might be a bit of a problem since Obsidian doesn't own either IP, but who says they can't just create their own world with the same kind of atmosphere and gameplay ideas!

Now, as much as I would love to say "Obsidian is working on a new Vampire: The Masquerade", it is important to keep in mind that all of this is just speculation. For any real answers we'll have to wait and see for how long Obsidian wants to stretch this reveal out. Once they do release more information I'll make sure to cover it, but for now allow me to leave you with the fairly ancient trailer for Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines. It might be a buggy mess, but its still an impressive game to this very day!
