NieR: Automata is Platinum Games' upcoming action RPG set in a vast open-world environment. It will be arriving on March 7th in North America and March 10th in Europe and Australia, though whether it will be coming at the same time for the PC and PS4 is currently unknown. A recent trailer pinned the PC version for March 10th, but it was quickly taken down, so I'm afraid we're going to have to remain in the dark for a little while longer.

All of that aside, if you're interested in the combat and weaponry found within NieR: Automata, you're in luck as Square Enix has recently posted a trailer showcasing just that. Have a look:

While the details are currently scarce, apparently there will be four different weapon types: small swords, large swords, spears, and combat bracers. Each of those can then be further specialized through new skills and weapon upgrades, which includes the usage of the "Pod" ranged support system - the 'little' gattling turret shown in the video. And if you're wondering what in the world "combat bracers" even are, they are apparently giant, spiked metal gloves you smack people over the head with. Not exactly the first thing I think of when I hear "bracers", but I certainly won't complain!

And finally, if you're interested in a bit of a lengthier look at the combat, you'll find a recent developer-guided preview by heading over here. It features around 30 minutes of open-world gameplay, plenty of combat, and thankfully, no spoilers whatsoever. Enjoy!
