From what little information is available so far I can tell you that Absolver is an online combat RPG with a focus on fluid melee combat. You will have to carefully time your attacks, feints, dodges, and counters, or end up being swiftly brought down by a superior opponent.
As for the RPG elements, you will be able to learn new combat styles and attacks, customize your weapons and individual combo sequences to fit your playstyle, and naturally, wear different types of armor, each of which I assume will come with its own drawbacks. Most importantly, however, Absolver is an incredibly stylish game, as you'll notice in the announcement trailer below:
Absolver will be coming to PC and consoles at some point in 2017, though the exact date hasn't been given yet.
If you're interested in a gameplay preview you will be able to either try it out yourself at E3, or tune in to the Twitch stream on June 13, at 5pm PT.
While its too early to make any sort of judgement I do appreciate the fact that one of the developers came out and explained the idea behind Absolver, or as he put it "We think the world would be a much better place if there were no guns. Then we could finally focus on important things, like sword fighting and how to kill a man with one punch."
Now that is how you pique someone's interest!
