[Update]: Fairy Tail has been delayed once more, this time until July.

Koei Tecmo and Gust Studios' JRPG Fairy Tail was originally supposed to release next month, on March 19th. However, in an effort to get everything as polished up as possible, the developers have now announced that the release date will be pushed back all the way to June 25th.

"I am truly sorry for FAIRY TAIL’s delay, and the inconvenience caused to our fans, partners and stakeholders who are looking forward to this title," explains Producer Keisuke Kikuchi. "Please allow us to take further time to polish the game to ensure it is as high quality as possible, so we can offer you a truly immersive experience."

"We will be working hard to enhance the magic effects, event scene effects, improving the game balance and more! We will talk about the improvements in more detail in the coming months. This delay will allow us to ensure we provide you a much more satisfying game. Thank you for your understanding!"

As with all of the other delays we've had throughout early 2020, I consider this to be a generally positive move. Waiting an extra few months for a game you're excited about is never all that fun, but if that gives the developers enough time to create a game they're actually proud of, then the wait is well worth it in my eyes. So here's to hoping Fairy Tail ends up being pretty darn solid!

You can read a little bit more about it, as well as follow any future updates, over at the official website. And with that said, I'll leave you with the rather odd character trailer. Enjoy!
