Kerbal Space Program 2 artwork for the complex sandbox game

If you're a fan of Kerbal Space Program or similar sandbox games, I have some good and bad news to share with you. The good news is that Kerbal Space Program has just received an ambitious new sequel that's trying to really push the concept forward, while the bad news is that Kerbal Space Program 2 is currently both unfinished and very, very buggy.

First things first, allow me to share with you the launch trailer. It should give you a pretty good idea of what Kerbal Space Program 2 looks like, as well as how it compares to its predecessor in terms of scope. Have a gander:

So what's the problem? Well, the biggest issue, and one that's impossible to overlook, is the performance. Even on decent PCs Kerbal Space Program 2 simply does not run at a stable enough framerate to actually play it properly. As such, even if you can get over the fact that a lot of features are still a work in progress, I don't think it's worth diving into Kerbal Space Program 2 right now as the whole experience just isn't all that enjoyable.

That said, I would still recommend keeping an eye on it moving forward. The original Kerbal Space Program was also in a bit of a rough state during its early days, and yet it eventually blossomed into something quite amazing. So while it's likely going to take a bit of time, I'm sure Kerbal Space Program 2 will manage to do the same as well.

You can follow Kerbal Space Program 2's progress, as well as read a bunch of player reviews for the current Early Access version, over at Steam. Enjoy!
