Blizzard has just announced that Hearthstone's Year of the Mammoth is soon coming to an end. While the exact date hasn't been specified just yet, it is expected that the newly unveiled Year of the Raven will arrive this April alongside a new expansion, faster and easier quests, and naturally, the annual set rotation.

Once Year of the Raven begins the following sets will be leaving the Standard format: Whispers of the Old Gods, One Night in Kharazan and Mean Streets of Gadgetzan. Furthermore, a couple of the more 'problematic' cards will be headed into the Hall of Fame as well, meaning they will not be available in the Standard format either. These cards are: Ice Block, Coldlight Oracle and the Molten Giant which is also getting its old stats restored!

In terms of new content you can expect to see three major expansions in 2018, none of which have been revealed just yet, as well as an improved quest system and in-game tournaments. While in-game tournaments are expected to arrive half-way through the year, the better and faster quests will be coming alongside the next expansion. The requirements for almost every quest are going to be reduced, and all 40 gold quests will award 50 gold instead. A small change in the grand scheme of things, but an extremely welcome one nonetheless.

The final thing worth mentioning is that the next expansion will give you the ability to acquire Lunara as a new Druid hero. All you'll have to do is win 10 games in either Standard ranked or casual game modes and she will be yours to keep. Once Lunara arrives Maiev will no longer be available, so if you don't already own the alternate Rogue hero you might want to get that done as soon as possible, just to be on the safe side.

Once more information gets released I'll make sure to cover it, but for now I'll leave you with the recent Developer Update, just in case I missed something important. Enjoy!
