Grim Dawn's DLC Crucible Mode boss

If you've collected the very best loot and completed pretty much everything you can in Grim Dawn, but you're still looking for more excuses to grab a sword and fight against the hordes of darkness, a brand new DLC has been added to offer exactly this type of experience.

The newly released Crucible Mode DLC brings with it "a challenging new arena gameplay mode" that will task you with fighting against 150 unique waves of enemies, collecting treasure and upgrades, and slowly build up your defenses in between waves. All in an effort to survive for as long as humanly possible in order to get the new pieces of shiny loot. If you're wandering what all of this looks like in-game, here's a brief trailer:

The Crucible is an alternative game mode available to all Main Campaign characters, even those that are currently level 1, so don't worry about not meeting some hidden requirements. Also, while this shouldn't really need saying since Grim Dawn is built from the ground up with multiplayer in mind, the Crucible Mode is fully playable in co-op, though expect the whole thing to become even more deadly as more players enter.

I haven't personally played it just yet, mostly because I'm currently strapped on time, but from what I've read on Steam and GOG it seems to be an incredibly solid piece of DLC for those that wish to add a good deal of hacking and slashing to their daily routine. Do bear in mind, however, that this is all the game mode really is, so don't go in expecting to see a compelling story or interesting characters, because you aren't going to find any.

If you're looking for all of the details, I would recommend you head over to the official website as it'll clue you in on what exactly you're getting for your money. Speaking of which, the Crucible Mode DLC will set you back €4,66 on Steam, Humble and GOG with the currently ongoing 15% discount. Have fun!
