Frostpunk artwork for The Last Autumn DLC

If you're sick and tired of the endless winter that permeates all of Frostpunk and you're looking for a bit of a change in scenery, you might be glad to hear that the prequel expansion The Last Autumn has now arrived. It tells the story of Site 113 and their struggles to construct a powerful generator before the endless winter encroaches upon them, which in gameplay terms means you'll have a brand new set of challenges to overcome, as well as plenty of difficult choices to make along the way.

You can get a bit of an idea of what to expect, as well as further delve into the story, through one of the recently posted trailers. Have a peek:

I haven't played The Last Autumn myself so take the following with a few grains of salt, but from what I can figure out it's a solid yet flawed expansion. The actual gameplay is pretty fun and it offers a good bit of variety to Frostpunk, but the problem is that you simply cannot continue on with your campaign once the brief story is over. So if you do decide to grab The Last Autumn, make sure to treat it like a completely separate scenario rather than a part of the main Frostpunk campaign.
