Dying Light screenshot of two players fighting an armored demolisher

It's been more than three years since Dying Light's original release, and much to my surprise the developer Techland is still releasing new content for it. Perhaps most interestingly, all of the recent content updates have not been added in the form of any sort of microtransactions, but rather entirely free!

So if you're up for giving Dying Light another try, you'll be glad to hear that there is now a brand new game mode to explore - Prison Heist. As you might imagine from the name alone, Prison Heist will have you break into Prison Island, the most isolated part of Harran, in order to pillage as much as you can from the armory before you get swarmed by hordes of enemies. It is essentially a time-attack mode designed for seasoned players, and according to the announcement it should be quite enjoyable in both solo and co-op.

You can get a bit of an idea of what this looks like in-game through the recently posted teaser trailer. Have a gander:

Techland has also added a brand new Demolisher boss in Harran's Old Town - Sergeant Deathrow. It's bigger, it's stronger, and as I'm sure many people will be terrified to hear, even more unpredictable than your average Demolisher. On the positive side, once you do manage to bring him down you'll get a whole boatload of experience, as well as some fancy loot for your troubles.

You can learn a little bit more about the new content by heading over to the official website. If you're just wondering about how to install it, however, all you need to do is update your game as it'll be added automatically. Have fun!
