Due to issues with the rights-holders GOG will be removing all Duke Nukem games come December 31

GOG is bidding farewell to some of the most classic oldschool PC games out there: Duke Nukem 1 & 2, Duke Nukem 3D, Balls of Steel and Manhattan Project.

The reason for this removal is some sort of issue with the rights-holders but GOG is working on bringing them back as soon as possible. All Duke games will be on sale until December 31 so if you're up for chewing some bubblegum and kicking ass now would be the time.

On a slightly unrelated note Dragonsphere will stop being a free promotional game on December 31st so if you have even a remote interest in old point and click fantasy games I'd suggest you add it to your account, it is completely free after all.

As for the Duke games here's what they're being discounted to:

- Duke Nukem 3D Atomic Edition is €1,39 with a 75% discount

- Duke Nukem 1 & 2 are €1,39 together with a 75% discount. Are you starting to see a pattern here?

- Duke Nukem: Manhattan Project is €1,39 with a 75% discount

- Balls of Steel is... you guessed it €1,39 with a 75% discount

I have a great deal of nostalgia for these games given that I played them a lot as a kid but the only ones I can really recommend for a modern audience are Duke Nukem 3D & Manhattan Project. Both are somewhat clunky in their own ways but if you can get past that you'll find a really fun classic FPS in Duke Nukem 3D and, oddly enough, a well done platformer in Manhattan Project.

Once again, the Duke games will be leaving GOG on December 31 but don't worry, if you've bough them they won't be removed from your account.
