Dota Underlords official artwork and logo

After an absolute ton of updates, many of which changed the very core of its gameplay, Dota Underlords has now been officially released from Steam Early Access. It has done so alongside the rather hefty Season 1 patch that brings with it the puzzle-focused City Crawl game mode, a fully-fledged battle pass, UI polish and numerous quality-of-life changes, as well as the usual avalanche of balance adjustments and hero tweaks.

If you're looking for a little bit of a sneak peek at some of the new content, or just wondering what Dota Underlords is really about, you should check out the recently posted launch trailer. Have a look, it's a pretty fun one:

I've only played a couple of matches so far, but from what I've seen Dota Underlords is in a pretty good place now. When I first quit around the time the titular Underlords were introduced, it was because the gameplay became so incredibly slow and one-dimensional - both issues that no longer seem to be present. In fact, there's even a somewhat new Knockout game mode that's all about fast matches and wild combos, which is just perfect for trying to squeeze in a game while sitting on the bus or waiting for something.

So if you're in the mood to see what Valve has managed to do with the Auto Chess formula, you should head on over to the official website to learn more. Or you can just give it a try for yourself by hopping over to Steam since like Dota 2, it's entirely free-to-play.

Either way, have fun!
