[Update]: Doom Eternal's second gameplay trailer highlights the new weapons and storylines.
Given how awesome the modern Doom was, I highly doubt many people were truly surprised when Bethesda announced a fully fledged sequel during this year's E3. While the news itself was certainly exciting, they sadly didn't share any sort of gameplay footage or even a teaser for some of the new weapons or enemies.
Thankfully, this little 'problem' has now been resolved as Bethesda and id Software have just recently released a rather lengthy gameplay preview. So if you're interested in an even more badass version of the Doomguy, I'd highly recommend you check out the video right below:
While I feel like it's just a little bit too exaggerated it in the video, I do like how id Software is continuing with the idea that the Doomguy is an absolute monster that strikes fear in the hearts of both men and demons. There's no silly sob story or NPCs begging for his help, it's just one man on a mission to destroy anything that might even faintly smell of hell, and that is certainly the right way to write a character for a game as brutal and action-focused as Doom.
My little musings aside, if you would like to learn more about Doom Eternal you should head on over to the official website. As for the release date, I'm afraid nothing has been announced just yet. The only thing I can tell you is that you'll be able to annihilate demons on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and even the Nintendo Switch.
Once more information comes to light I'll make sure to let you know, but until then I'll leave you with this delightful 'little' teaser.
