Diablo 2: Resurrected artwork showing off Mephisto

[Update]: Diablo 2: Resurrected has now been unleashed, and so far it's looking pretty good!

The ARPG classic Diablo 2 will be getting a fully fledged remaster later this year. You can expect to see greatly improved visuals and support for modern resolutions, an extended stash and the ability to easily trade items between characters, better anti-cheat and enhanced leaderboards, as well as cross-platform progression!

If all of that sounds as exciting to you as it does to me, you'll be quite happy to hear that the Diablo 2: Resurrected Technical Alpha will be starting tomorrow (April 9)! In order to get in all you need to do is head on over to the Diablo 2 website, opt into the test, and that's it. After that it's all in the hands of Lady Luck.

This very first alpha test will run until April 12th and will give you the ability to explore the first two acts in their entirety, as well as experiment with three classes: Amazon, Barbarian and Sorceress. Naturally, given that this is an alpha test we're talking about, there is a good chance you'll run into bugs or performance issues. Should that happen, make sure to report it to Blizzard as that is the entire point behind this test.

If you aren't lucky enough to get chosen, worry not as you'll still be able to easily get your Diablo 2: Resurrected fix. The reason I say this is because the Technical Alpha will have no NDA, and as such there will be plenty of gameplay videos, streams and previews to peruse the moment it goes live.

You can read a little bit more about the Technical Alpha, as well as check out the FAQ, over at Blizzard website. Good luck with the alpha key!
