Diablo 2 Resurrected artwork for Mephisto

[Update]: After a small delay, Diablo 2: Resurrected's Patch 2.4 has now been unleashed.

Unlike Warcraft 3: Reforged which still hasn't managed to reach parity with the original, Diablo 2 Resurrected has thankfully ended up being a faithful remake of the ARPG classic. Best of all, things are only going to get better in the near future as Blizzard is currently experimenting with a variety of nifty changes with Patch 2.4.

First and foremost, the biggest addition in Patch 2.4 will be the introduction of the competitive Ladder. It'll be an optional, ranked system where you'll get to start as a fresh character in a bunch of different modes. Much like Path of Exile's variants, each Ladder will have its own specific content to spice things up and will task you with reaching as high of a level as possible. Once the Ladder season ends the rankings will reset, your characters will be transferred to the non-Ladder mode, while a brand new season will spring up in order to give you a new batch of challenges to overcome.

For those of you less focused on competition, Patch 2.4 will also bring with it an assortment of balance changes based on all of the community feedback since Diablo 2 Resurrected's launch. Don't worry, however, as none of the previously top-tier builds will be getting a nerf. Instead, the update is mostly focused on boosting fun yet underwhelming builds!

As such, you can expect to see some nice buffs to bow-based Amazon builds, a whole bunch of Barbarian buffs including one for the previously meme-tier throwing build, and perhaps most excitingly, the ability for Druids to use spirit wolves, dire wolves, and bears at the same time! All of this is just the tip of the iceberg, so if you're interested in the exact numbers behind each change you can find what you're looking for at the official patch notes.

If you would prefer to test these changes yourself rather than simply read about them, you'll be happy to hear you won't have to wait all that long in order to do so as Patch 2.4 will be going up on the test servers this March 2nd! In order to join all you'll have to do is select the PTR as your region in BattleNet, download the new update, and you'll be ready to go in no time.

Have fun, and here's to hoping even more buffs are coming our way in the future!
