World of Warcraft: Legion expansion art

With World of Warcraft's massive Legion expansion right around the corner, Blizzard has recently released a pre-expansion patch filled with a ton of class changes and reworks, a brand new transmogrification system, and various other minor changes and additions. The biggest and most widely announced feature of this long-awaited pre-expansion patch however, the early access to the new Demon Hunter class, was and still is unfortunately missing.

Thankfully, there is some good news as Blizzard has just announced that the early access for the Demon Hunter class will begin on August 9 for everyone that pre-purchases the Legion expansion. Do bear in mind, however, that due to the Collector's Edition being purely physical, you're not going to be able to play the Demon Hunter class early as there is no way to confirm your ownership.

Then again, if you really, truly want to play as a Demon Hunter before everyone else you can pre-purchase a digital copy of Legion and ensure your early access that way, and then once you finally get your Collector's Edition key ask Blizzard to swap them around. This will leave you with an extra digital copy to give away, so if you have a friend you wish to play with and don't mind jumping through a couple of hoops so you can double jump in game, you have the option available to you.

As for the Demon Hunters, they will begin at level 98 in the fel-shattered expanse of Mardum, where they'll be able to play through the entire Demon Hunter starting zone before joining up with the rest of the world, pretty much exactly how the Death Knights function. If you would like to learn more about them, I'm afraid the official website is a bit coy with its information, but it should still give you a general idea of what to expect.

On a somewhat unrelated note, if you've missed the recently posted "Harbingers" animated shorts, you can find the Khadgar one here and the Gul'dan one here.
