Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc is coming to Steam this February 18th

We've certainly come a long way from the times where even the thought of Japanese games ever appearing on the PC was considered about as likely as a Unicorn giving you a lift to work.

Just this month alone we have Tales of Symphonia, Disgaea and now Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc all coming to Steam. In Danganronpa's case the release date is set for February 18th at $29,99 price point with an added 20% discount and bonus soundtrack for early adopters. Here's the trailer:

So what exactly is Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc?

its a hybrid between a murder mystery visual novel and a classic point and click adventure game with a bucket or two of pure insanity mixed in, for good measure. The story takes place in a school cut-off from the outside world and in control of a murderous teddy bear who offers each student a deal: Kill one of your fellow students and get away with it and you'll be able to walk free.

The actual gameplay is split in to two parts. In the first one you navigate the school standard adventure game style in hopes of building relationships with other students and in order to find clues about what exactly is happening or who might be behind the various murders that occur during your stay at the school.

The second part consists of a mock trial where you and your fellow students need to try and figure out which one among you is the murderer. You will need to present evidence, interrogate your fellow classmates and hopefully find out who the murderer is before everyone starts suspecting the awfully pushy person pointing the finger at everyone but himself.

I never had the chance to play Danganronpa but it has some great reviews backing it up and the concept is more than interesting enough to to make it worth keeping an eye on.

Once again, Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc will be arriving on Steam this February 18th along with trading cards, badges, achievements, bonus soundtrack and emoticons. All the usual Steamy goodness.
